God's Violence

At Cross Talk, Michael Gorman has a conversation going about God's violence, particularly in the Old Testament. Much of it concerns what faithful readers are to make of this violence without explaining it away. Fascinating questions.

God chooses to become involved in violence so that evil will not have the last word. In everything, including violence, God seeks to accomplish loving purposes.
